Morgan Elmore, who everyone calls Mae, came to hair for two reasons: the creative freedom, and the people in her chair. An associate at Salon Kreed trained through the TIGI Hairdressing Academy, Mae brings a real gift for connection to every appointment. She describes her chair simply, an open mind and a safe space, only love.

Mae is drawn to color, especially highlights, hair designs, and the kind of subtle dimension that reads as effortless. She is honest about the discipline the craft takes. In her own words she gets excited, especially with a color lift, so she has learned to step back and let the process do its full work rather than rush a beautiful result.

Her consultations are built on listening. Mae reads mood and body language, asks question after question to get to the real idea, and repeats back what the two of you agreed on before she begins. Fifteen to thirty minutes up front, because she wants the plan to fit your day to day. Her advice is simple, a little light oil for a smooth finish, and no, skipping your haircut does not make it grow longer.
