Kyla Sparks came to hair with a clear why: she wanted to do vivid color and help people feel confident in their own skin. Trained at TIGI, she is early in her career and pouring everything into it at Salon Kreed, where she has quickly become known for creative color and a genuinely warm chair.

Vivids are her thing. One of her proudest moments so far was hand-painting a mandala pattern into a client's hair, the kind of detail most stylists never attempt, and the second she finished it she knew she wanted to keep doing work like that. She reaches for Kérastase and Oribe to keep hair healthy through the process.

What steadies her is a thorough consultation. Kyla asks open-ended questions, learns what your lifestyle actually allows, and is honest when a big change might take more than one visit. Before you leave she checks in and asks how you feel about your hair, because fine is not the goal, happy and confident is. She swears by hair oil in Colorado's dry air, and she will bust the myth that you should show up with dirty hair for a lightening service. Away from the chair she is writing, reading, or hiking, usually with some Hozier on.
