Joy Bippus

Joy Bippus taught herself every kind of braid at six and was cutting hair for friends and family at fourteen. Everyone around Joy expected a hairstylist, and more than 26 years later that is the job. Joy trained at International Salon and Spa Academy.

Color is the work Joy loves most, especially blondes and color corrections. A client who comes in after a bad experience somewhere else gets taken back to the color they wanted in the first place, and better. The integrity of the hair comes first, and every client leaves with a plan to keep the color and cut where they want it.

Joy has taught color and precision cutting, and built and designed a salon and spa from the ground up. The classes have not stopped. There is always one more nugget worth picking up.

Every consultation covers three things: your hair goals, pictures of what you want, and your lifestyle. No two heads are alike, so no two of Joy's cuts or colors are either.

The myth Joy most wants gone is that your hair has stopped growing. Hair grows from the root no matter what. If it is not getting longer, the ends are breaking off, and regular trims are what stop it.

Between visits, the answer is the right products. In Colorado that means a leave-in conditioner. The trend Joy loves is taking clients blonde while keeping the hair healthy enough to grow long. The one Joy is over is dark on the bottom and blonde on top.

Away from the salon, Joy kayaks and goes white water rafting. Good indie plays at the chair. Given anyone's hair, past or present, Joy would pick Sinead O'Connor or Jennifer Aniston.
