Gregory Chavez, Salon Owner, Educator, Level 4 Stylist at Salon Kreed in Colorado Springs

Gregory Chavez

Salon Owner, Educator, Level 4 Stylist

40+ years behind the chair

Gregory Chavez opened Salon Kreed in 2021, four decades after a family friend who worked with the original Paul Mitchell first got him into hair. The career in between ran coast to coast and included years as a platform artist for both Paul Mitchell and Toni & Guy, the demo work those brands put in front of rooms full of working stylists.

He is a Level 4 stylist and the salon's educator. The apprentice program is his. New Talent stylists at Kreed train under a master before they carry their own book, and that is the part of the business he is most protective of. Forty years in, he is still the one running the education.

He built the salon on two rules. Standards do not move, and nobody stops learning. Clients get the benefit of the second one, because the person cutting their hair was taught by someone who is still teaching.

Outside the salon Gregory swims, trains, and listens to everything from jazz to rock.
